Founded by the United Federation of Teachers (UFT) the charter school opened in September 2005. The UFT Charter High School began with its first High School freshman class in 2009. We now consist of grades 9-12. Begining in 2013 we have graduated students each year who have gone on to be successful in college and the career world. The school was founded upon a collaborative nature, which builds a labor-management relationship that promotes educational excellence by respecting educators who work under the UFT contract. By drawing on the Union's expertise, The UFT Charter High School prepares student to meet high academic standards and lead successful lives. The school has been housed in building K166 (“K166”) located at 800 Van Siclen Avenue, Brooklyn since 2006.
